There were rumors of tension on set during the second season between Ferreira and the show’s creator. Sam Levinsonbut Ferreira told the portal Insider in an interview in March that those reports were not true.
Ferreira made her debut as Kat, Maddie’s best friend (alexa demie) and Cassie (sydney sweeney) in Season 1, which focused on her self-love journey as a body-conscious teenager starting the school year looking to change her reputation. In Season 2, her character’s storyline included a lie about being terminally ill.
