bad bunny leads the list of artists of the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2022, with 23 nominations in 13 categories. The Puerto Rican hitmaker is nominated for Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male, and Best Latin Album of the Year for his hit album Un Verano Sin Ti, which is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week for an eighth non-consecutive chart at the top.
Following Bunny is the Colombian star Carol G with 15 entries in 11 categories, a record number of nominations for a female artist. Karol’s categories include Artist of the Year and Hot Latin Song Artist of the Year, Female, as well as Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, for her collaboration with Becky G “MAMIII”.
As has been the case for more than 20 years, the Billboard Latin Music Awards coincide with the Annual Billboard Latin Music Week, the largest and most important singles gathering in the Latin music industry, which takes place from September 26 to October 1. 1. Latin Music Week will feature panels, conversations and workshops at Foro Faena and exclusive performances and fan experiences throughout the week in Miami.
Artists confirmed to speak at Latin Music Week thus far include Chayanne, Maluma, Grupo Firme, Camilo, Ivy Queen, Romeo Santos and Nicky Jam, among many others. It will also feature the launch of Billboard Español, Billboard’s new Spanish-language site, launching in September.
