The money awarded to Vanessa Bryant (40) by a Los Angeles court will be donated by the widow of the late US basketball player Kobe Bryant.
, Bryant plans to donate the entire $16 million to the Mamba & Mambacita Foundation. The foundation works for equal opportunities for disadvantaged boys and girls in sports and was founded by his wife after Kobe’s death.

Last Thursday (August 25) a grand jury in Los Angeles awarded Bryant damages. Vanessa Bryant has sued Los Angeles County over misconduct by fire and police personnel. The trial involved leaked photos taken and passed on by first responders at the scene of the helicopter crash.
Kobe Bryant (1978-2020) died in the helicopter crash in January 2020 together with his daughter Gianna (2006-2020).
Co-plaintiff Chris Chester also lost two family members in the helicopter crash, his wife Sarah and 13-year-old daughter Payton. The jury awarded him $15 million in damages.
