The 37-year-old royal commemorates his mother who died in a tunnel while fleeing paparazzi in 1997. She had been involved in charitable work, especially for people suffering from AIDS.
British Prince Harry (37) wants to convey his mother’s charitable nature to his children on the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death on August 31st.
“I want it to be a day filled with memories of her incredible work and love for the way she accomplished it,” Harry said at a charity event for his organization Sentebale, Colorado. Harry said he wanted to pass his mother’s spirit on to his family and children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.
Harry, who now lives in the US state of California, founded Sentebale in 2006 together with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in memory of his mother Seeisos, who also died. The organization supports children suffering from AIDS and AIDS orphans in southern Africa. “I hope to make her proud every day,” Harry said of the “Queen of Hearts” at Thursday night’s event, adding, “She has been tireless in her work to support those affected by AIDS/HIV and break the stigma to free.”
