Sarah Harding: Girls Aloud singer dies of breast cancer at the age of 39

As a member of Girls Aloud, Sarah Harding was particularly successful in the noughties. The Briton was cast alongside Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh in 2002 in the TV format “Popstars” and was part of the band until they broke up in 2013.

Last summer, Harding announced on her Instagram account that she has breast cancer and already has metastases in her body. At that time, the 39-year-old was still optimistic. “I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy and fighting as best I can,” Harding wrote in August 2020.

Now she has lost the fight. Harding died on September 5, a few weeks before her 40th birthday. “She fell asleep peacefully this morning,” said her mother Marie Harding via Instagram.
