Worn out sports shoes and rubber duckies: More than a year after Willi Herren’s death, his estate is auctioned off to the highest bidder. At the online auction, interested parties can bid on around 660 things from their personal possessions until the end of September, as the managing director of Krefeld’s “Auktions Service West GmbH”, Michael Blum, said on Thursday.

Willi Herren: Estate will be auctioned at online auction

Already one day after the start of the auction, bids had already been submitted for some items. Herren, who became known as serial bully Olli Klatt on “Lindenstraße” and singer of Mallorca party hits, was found dead in his Cologne apartment in April 2021 at the age of 45.

Among the items to be auctioned are many worn items of clothing such as swimming shorts, sneakers with dirty soles, patched jeans or booties “with strong signs of wear”, which men said they had worn on a reality show. Also on offer are a decorated artificial fir tree, a football jersey with the inscription “Willi”, a frog money box, a shoulder bag with a burn hole, a toiletry bag with a nose hair trimmer and a can of hair wax that has been used. Several media had reported on the auction.

Proceeds flow into the bankruptcy estate

“The proceeds from the auction will flow into the insolvency estate,” explained attorney Kristina Wessing from the law firm Niering Stock Tömp, which is responsible for the insolvency administration, when asked by the dpa. In the process, creditors had registered claims totaling around 400,000 euros. The items to be auctioned were selected in consultation with the widow Jasmin Herren.

This told RTL that the auction would certainly have been in Willi’s interest. In order to determine the value, she marked each individual part for the estate administrator. “Nevertheless, it hurts me a lot,” said the 43-year-old. “I hope that everything finds a dignified place.”
