The most ambitious series on Amazon Prime Video
The last trailer before the big premiere shows Morfydd Clark as the elven warrior Galadriel, who embarks on a formative quest that encourages her to become the royal leader most commonly associated with the performance of Cate Blanchett of the character in the trilogies of Peter Jackson.
As we see in this latest trailer, it is the death of Galadriel’s brother that motivates her journey. He also gives us a glimpse of Disa (Sophia Nomvetelisten), who oversees Khazad-dûm with her husband, Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), a distant ancestor of the dwarves from Tolkien’s beloved series of books.

The differences between the Lord of the Rings series and Peter Jackson’s trilogy
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is inspired solely by the author’s works J. R. R. Tolkienand as incredible as the trilogy of Peter Jackson, the prequel will try to be as original as possible. This is what he said patrick mckay to the portal Empire: “Anyone who approaches The Lord of the Rings on the screen would be mistaken if they did not think how marvelously well it [Jackson] did. But we are fans from afar, that’s all. The Rings of Power are not trying to compete with him.”
“One of the mantras in this was ‘go back to the source material’. ‘What would Tolkien do?’ Some of these other competing properties — they play an octave very well. But Tolkien was playing every note on the piano. He had that variety of pitches. There’s the fantasy and the friendship and the humor that Harry Potter is so loved for, but there’s sophistication, politics, history, mythology and depth as well. So for us, it was about delving into who we are, rather than worrying about what other people do.”
