After a failed comeback attempt, Pilatus’ life spiraled out of control. In 1998, he was found dead in a Frankfurt hotel room from an overdose of alcohol and prescription drugs.

simon verhoeven directs the film based on his own original screenplay. Graham Rogers co-stars as the American assistant to Millie Vanilli, Todd. Bella Dayne plays Milli, Farian’s right-hand man.

Personally, I believe that Rob and Fab did not deserve to become the only scapegoats in this scandal.”
Verhoeven is producing Girl You Know It’s True along with Farian and Stefan Gartner.
The film is shooting in Munich, Berlin, Cape Town, South Africa and Los Angeles. The title comes from the great success of Millie Vanilli from 1989, Farian’s version of an original song by the American hip-hop group Numarx. The member of the band Nurmax, kevin lilesCEO of the music company 300 Entertainment, is an executive producer of Girl You Know It’s True.
