A town with a country air that offers lots of gastronomy, an agricultural museum, vineyards and a picturesque neo-gothic church with original stained glass from the period. In a weekend getawaythese are the points of interest that cannot be missed:

Salesian Agrotechnical School “Don Bosco”

It was the first agrotechnical school in Argentina. It was founded in 1894 and, 120 years later, it continues to function and is a prestigious institution both in the Cañuelas area and in the surrounding towns. In addition to visiting the building, the regional products that are made and sold there are also recommended, such as leftovers, dulce de leche, wines and sausages.

Uribe Factory

The best alfajores made with an emblematic product of Cañuelas such as dulce de leche. There are many varieties to choose from. They also offer sweets, chocolates and liqueurs.

The Uribeña

It is a family business founded eight years ago that is dedicated to the production of craft beer and also has a restaurant with disco meals, homemade pasta and many different kinds of snacks. They have been holding the Fiesta de la Picada and Craft Beer for 15 years.

Finca Don Atilio

This vineyard and winery offers guided tours with reservations for small groups of no more than 30 people. 90% of the vineyard produces tannat grapes. The winery has existed for twelve years.

Goñi Valley

A goat farm that produces goat’s milk, with which they make dulce de leche. The place offers guided tours with breakfast or snacks, depending on the schedule.

Our Lady of Lujan Church

It was designed by the prestigious architect Pedro Benoit and built in memory of Manuela DF Azcuénaga de Uribelarrea, the deceased wife of rancher Miguel de Uribelarrea. It has a neo-gothic style and its interior features original stained glass from the time. The remains of the founder of the town are buried in the courtyard.

Regional Museum of Agricultural Machinery Leopoldo Rizzi

It works inside a shed at the Uribelarrea train station. Plows, machines, irons, tools and elements of the time are exhibited there.

Centennial Square

It is the main square of the town and has an octagonal design. Like the Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Luján, it is the work of the architect engineer Pedro Benoit and was also founded in 1890.
