Natalia Avelon graces the new issue of “Playboy”. “Nudity is nothing irritating or perverse to me,” says the actress.
Natalia Avelon (41) has taken off her “Playboy” cover and adorns the new October issue. The actress is known for example from the film “Das wilde Leben” (2007), in which she played the photo model Uschi Obermaier (74). The icon of the ’68 movement also adorned the “Playboy” cover 25 years ago – in September 1996. The work on “Das Wilde Leben” brought Avelon “closer to my own sexuality”, explains the 41-year-old in “Playboy” – Interview.
“Uschi is, in a positive sense, very animalistic. She loves and values herself, including her body, she is like a cat. Self-confident and stubborn! An absolute role model for other women!”, She says of Obermaier, who has been one since the film became a close friend.
Nudity is “the purest form of our existence”
With its cover, photographed by Michel Haddi (64), Avelon wants to set an example against sexual taboos and for self-determination. “For me, nudity is nothing irritating, perverse or intimidating. On the contrary,” the actress clarifies. “In my opinion it is the purest, most natural and honest form of our existence. Unfortunately, at some point we made the topic taboo and thus created a distance from our own bodies.”
The most important thing is “that everyone can live out what makes them happy without having to justify themselves to others” – regardless of whether they are naked or buttoned up. According to Avelon, the origin of sexism lies in a double standard. “When men do not accept their own lifestyle with women and suddenly become pseudo-moral apostles. That pisses me off!”, She explains. “I won’t tolerate that, because I consistently represent the emancipated female gender.”
