Hollywood star Florence Pugh will not attend the press conference for her own film “Don’t Worry Darling” at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. It seems things are bubbling up behind the scenes.
The film “Don’t Worry Darling” with Florence Pugh and Harry Styles will be released in German cinemas at the end of September. But even in the run-up to the show, the strip has sparked discussions – fueled by the leading actress herself.
Because, as “People” reports, Hollywood star Florence Pugh will not attend the press conference at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, but will appear on the red carpet before the premiere.
Problems with “Don’t Worry Darling”
Although some sources say it’s always been the plan, Pugh’s absence from the conference fueled rumors that she had fallen out with director Olivia Wilde. Wilde denied this shortly after the first reports appeared.
Florence Pugh is said to have two problems with the production and marketing of the film. Following the release of the trailer, which featured a sex scene starring Harry Styles, Pugh said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar: “If it’s just about sex scenes or watching the most famous man in the world suck someone orally satisfied, that’s not why we’re doing this. That’s not why I’m in this industry.”
It continued: “When you hire the most famous pop star in the world, of course there will be talks like that. But I won’t talk about that because [dieser Film] is bigger and better than that. And the people who made it are even bigger and better than that.”

Styles is said to have earned three times more
Another aspect of the dispute could be unequal pay between the two stars in the film’s lead roles. As reported by Showbiz Galore, Styles was reportedly paid $2.5 million for his work on the film, while Pugh reportedly received just $700,000.
Director Wilde denies the rumours. She told Variety, “There’s a lot that I largely ignore. But the absurdity of the contrived clickbait and subsequent reaction to a non-existent pay gap between our leading and supporting actors really upset me.”
Florence Pugh and Harry Styles star in Don’t Worry Darling as Alice and Jack, a young couple living in the seemingly perfect 1950s test-tube town of Victory. Alice plays the bored housewife in the film while Jack pursues a mysterious project. As Alice tries to find out what her husband is up to, she uncovers disturbing secrets.
