The 61-year-old was awarded in the category “Best Narrator” for his role as a speaker in the Netflix documentary series “Our Great National Parks”, as the US television academy announced on Saturday evening (local time). In the five-part series, which Obama also co-produced, he presents national parks from all over the world.
The ex-president has already won two Grammy Awards for the audio versions of his memoir, The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance” (“An American Dream: The Story of My Family”).

The other Emmy nominees in the category were Lupita Nyong’o, David Attenborough, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and W. Kamau Bell. The Emmys are the most important television awards in the USA. The winners in the main categories will be announced at a gala in Los Angeles on September 12th. The first awards in various technical and creative categories will be presented beforehand.
