Effectively, Jefferson Hall He is the only actor, for now, who repeats both in the original series and in its prequel. And not because his character appears in both productions of HBO, but because he plays several different characters. Specifically three: the aforementioned Lannister twins in the prequel and Lord Jon Arryn’s squire, Hugh del Valle, in the first episodes of the series released in 2011.

Ser Hugh of the Valley died at the hands of The Mountain in the fourth episode of Game of Thrones, now we have seen Hall as Tyland, with shorter hair, a member of King Viserys’s council, while Jason Lannister has offered himself as a suitor from the hand of Princess Rhaenyra.
In statements to online Hall spoke about his dual role in House of the Dragon: “It was a real treat when it came out and obviously there’s a lot of pressure because they were very loved and very hated characters and very popular characters.”
In creating Jason and Tyland, Hall says there are “little blobs of Tyrion or little blobs of Cersei” built into these two roles. “I put it in there as a kind of wink,” he explains. “But fundamentally, realistically, they are very far apart. This is really about the genesis of this House of Lannister, before it came to the power that they had in ‘Game of Thrones’.”

When audiences meet Jason and Tyland, “they’re nowhere near where they end up. So, it’s really the beginning,” says Hall, who teases that there’s a big time jump that comes later in the season, “which was challenging because once you’re getting to know the characters, [tienes] to tie together what happens in those 10 years in between.”
As a result, both twins “change, even within the first season,” the actor adds, noting that “fundamentally they’re going to change tremendously as the show goes on.”
