“We believe that the reading experience becomes more intense and enriching, like any human experience, when it is not carried out alone. Social networks are then an ideal channel to create reading communities and discover to large audiences the beauty and validity of this central work of our culture”, he tells the agency Télam Sebastian Noejovichgraduate and professor of Literature and one of the organizers of this movement, together with the writer, editor and manager Esteban Castroman Y Marina Tabassomedical student and agitator of readings in social networks.
For the teacher, “social networks are, by definition, the channel through which the enunciation is multiplied and through which, today, the word circulates with greater freedom. From that place, this network reading project will be able to nurture not only of academic comments, but also of diverse reading experiences, and adding drawings, recitations, improvisations, or whatever spontaneously provokes the reading of the work”.
For several years Noejovich has been teaching Martín Fierro with “taste” in high school and he still attends, “somewhat surprised, at the emotion that this work is capable of arousing among young people between 17 and 18 years old.” For this reason, when last year he fell “on account” of the 150th anniversary of the publication of the “The Gaucho Martin Fierro” (1872), had the idea of replicating the experience of reading in networks that he had known with the initiative of the writer Paul Maurettewhich in 2018 brought together more than 5,000 users around “The Divine Comedy”.
This is how he launched the initiative, which he now produces in conjunction with Tabasso, who actively participated in similar collective experiences, and with Castromán, whom he defines as “a very restless cultural manager, with an innovative profile and who also had experience in production of related activities.
How do you imagine Martín Fierro entering social networks? “In the same way as perhaps other themes. In a spontaneous way, somewhat anarchic, but massive and we do not doubt that with many discoveries -Noejovich maintains-. For the rest, we believe that the desecration of this work is one of the conditions for its rediscovery among large audiences.
The campaign will be presented on September 30 at the Jose Hernandez Museum of Popular Art, located at Avenida Del Libertador 2373, CABA. The reading will begin on October 3 and will run until November 24, calling on users to share one song per day from Monday to Saturday, with the hashtag #MFiron150.
