For Princess Diana’s 60th birthday, RTL is dedicating a theme day to the late Lady Di. It deals with tape recordings that are dramatic.
Princess Diana would have turned 60 today. On the occasion of this number, Prince William and Prince Harry will unveil a statue of Diana in the garden of Kensington Palace in London. RTL dedicates a theme day to the deceased princess.
Diana’s birthday: Exciting tape recordings
At 8:15 pm, fans of Lady Di can look forward to the documentary “RTL Special: 60 Years of Diana – Who Was She Really? Frauke Ludowig Reveals the True Story of the Princess of the Century”. Ludowig follows in Diana’s footsteps and speaks to confidants and companions.
“But Diana herself reveals the greatest secret. On previously unpublished recordings, she tells her own dramatic story and reveals how the scandal of the century really came about, which has changed not only the royal family, but all of our lives to this day and of all people beloved sons are now facing the hardest decision of their lives, “said the station’s press release.
“A great coup”
“The exciting and fascinating thing about these tapes is that we really hear Diana’s voice and we hear very, very often how desperate she was at the time,” explains Royal expert Michael Begasse in stern-Podcast “Important Today”. “When I was four months pregnant with William, I threw myself down the stairs to get my husband’s attention, to get him to listen to me. But he just said: ‘You’re giving the wrong alarm'”says Diana among other things.

“We achieved a great coup. Andrew Morton wrote a biography of Diana, this is based on these tapes. But you weren’t allowed to say at the time that this book was based on Diana’s words. When she died, he wrote another book that meant ‘Diana – her true story in her own words’. That was on the basis of their description. If you had known that the words were true, you would have taken her children away, so no one was allowed to know. These tapes were locked in a safe for decades, “explains Frauke Ludowig stern.
It was already known that Diana fell down the stairs. But hearing the princess and her voice should be exciting, especially for younger fans of the royal family.
