Katie Price has lived her tumultuous life in public, but there are details not everyone knows. In a documentary by “Channel 4”, the British reality star described his mental problems and a traumatic experience.
Price reveals she was raped at gunpoint in a 2018 car theft in South Africa. “There were six guys who jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me,” Price said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Katie Price suffered trauma
In the same year she suffered a nervous breakdown and tried to take her own life. The men had searched the vehicles for cash and iPhones while filming. Police are said to have told Katie Price that it was a miracle she survived.
“I got major depression a few years ago, depression on top of one post-traumatic stress disorder, I was suicidal, didn’t want to be here. I tried to kill myself. I tried to hang myself. I knocked myself out. I had blue eyes and bruises around my neck“, Price continued.
Therapy helped her
The thought of her children kept her from suicide. Katie Price also opened up about her therapy and wishes she had sought help sooner. “It would have stopped a lot of things that I might have said or reacted to.”
Katie Price rose to fame as the “Page Three Girl” of the British tabloid Sun in the 1990s. She was made the first pit babe by the tabloid press and photographed in Playboy.
