Football star Jérôme Boateng has been convicted of willful bodily harm in a trial before the Munich District Court.
Jérôme Boateng (33) was found guilty on September 9 at the Munich District Court. According to consistent media reports, the court imposed a fine of 60 daily rates of 30,000 euros each for willful bodily harm. The former national soccer player has to pay 1.8 million euros.
Boateng had to answer for the allegation of bodily harm and insult. A former partner had accused him of being attacked by Boateng in 2018. He rejected the allegations in court. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
Boateng became world champion with the German national team in Brazil in 2014. The former Bayern star now plays at Olympique Lyon. His two-year contract with the French first division club runs until summer 2023.
