The decision will be made by the jury made up of the writers María Sonia Cristoff, Héctor Guyot, Mercedes Halfon and Daniel Link. Mentions and winners in each category will be announced in December.
“The Prize Estímulo works as a scholarship intended to support the writing process towards a final version of the text,” said the director of Fundación Proa, Adriana Rosenberg. The jury will also distinguish up to 16 projects with a mention.
The authors will have the opportunity to work on the development of their works from the crossing of genres within the framework of the Writing Clinics that will be carried out by the writers Romina Paula and Alan Pauls.
“The goal is to provide a platform for creative expression, as well as the emergence and circulation of new voices in Argentina,” said the executive director of the Bunge y Born Foundation, Gerardo della Paolera.
This third edition brings a novelty: the Graphic Narrative category (which includes genres such as graphic novels and children’s illustration, among others) will be aimed at contributing to the publication of the book by an editorial. Thus, authors and publishers of the genre may present a finished unpublished work in order to obtain the Incentive for the edition of $250,000.
Last year, the call received nearly 1,300 applications, just as in 2020 there had been 1,100 people registered.
In the last year, several of the award-winning projects have seen the light, such as The Museum of Human Memory, the book of science fiction stories by Valentino Cappelloni from Mar del Plata (Fiction Award 2020) or La Madriguera, the graphic novel de Femimutancia (Jules Mamone, Graphic Novel Award 2020), published by Editorial Orsai and Hotel de las Ideas, respectively.
Also Metrochenta, the play by José Guerrero, awarded in Dramaturgy in 2021, was premiered in July 2022 in the emblematic Buenos Aires hall Timbre 4.
