Natalia Avelon is currently on the cover of the German edition of “Playboy”. The actress, who is known from “Das wilde Leben”, where she played Uschi Obermeier, posted a photo of the cover on Instagram.

Both in her roles and in public appearances, Avelon looks like a woman who feels very comfortable in her own skin. That it wasn’t always like that, she now tells on RTL’s “VIPstagram” program.

“When I was twelve, before puberty, I went home from the swimming pool. In a village with 4,000 people. I thought some neighbor was walking in front of me. He turns around, grabs my crotch, holds me tight”, she describes an event that would shape her life from then on. Because she screamed loudly, the man fled at the time, she reports. But the sexual assault had consequences anyway. “It was an intervention in my puberty. It was traumatic,” says the 41-year-old now and admits that she was afraid of men for a long time. She was embarrassed about the attack.

She is committed to mental health

She then did therapy to strengthen her self-confidence. “We are born confident and then that is taken from us,” explains the actress. She “did not want to let herself get down”, but without therapy she would not have found her way out of her depression. “Mental health is an important issue,” she says.

Her job also later helped her to feel good in her body. “Looking back, I have to say that working on the film brought my own sexuality closer to me,” she explains in the new issue of “Playboy”. “Whether naked or buttoned up, the most important thing is that everyone is allowed to live out what makes them happy without having to justify themselves to others,” she emphasizes in the men’s magazine.
