Max Gómez Canle, Silvia Gurfein, Graciela Hasper and Leila Tschopp were distinguished in the Painting category; while Magdalena Jitrik, in Colombia these days, sent another person in her place. Claudia Aranovich, Elba Bairon, Marcela Cabutti, Claudia Fontes and Carola Zech were awarded in Sculpture.
In Object the trajectory of Irene Banchero, Carlota Beltrame, Daniel Joglar, Irina Kirchuk and Cristina Schiavi was recognized and in Arts of Fire the chosen ones were Gabriel Baggio, Leo Battistelli, Gabriel Chaile, Nushi Muntaabski and Débora Pierpaoli.
In turn, there were distinctions in Drawing for Adriana Bustos, Claudia del Río, Matías Duville, Cynthia Kampelmacher and Mauro Koliva. The Engraving diplomas were received by Esteban Álvarez, Lulú Lobo, Andrea Moccio, Elisa O’Farrell and María Inés Tapia Vera.
Celina Eceiza, Mónica Millán, Ariadna Pastorini, Inés Raiteri and Guido Yannitto took their diplomas in Textile Art and in Installation the distinguished ones were Eugenia Calvo, Valeria Conte Mac Donell, Alicia Herrero, Julio Le Parc and Adrián Villar Rojas. In Performance, Maricel Álvarez, Mariana Bellotto, Diego Bianchi, Ana Gallardo and Osías Yanov were chosen.
During yesterday’s session, tribute was also paid to figures of the Visual Arts who died during the decade and who were awarded the Konex Prize in previous editions, such as Norberto Gómez, Jorge Gumier Maier, María Juana Heras Velasco, Gyula Kosice, Margarita Paksa, Alejandro Puente , Juan Carlos Romero, Guillermo Roux, Graciela Sacco and Clorindo Testa.
The selection of the 100 figures was in charge of a jury presided over by Luis Felipe Noé and made up of 20 personalities, with Matilde Marín being its Secretary General. The election system consisted of designating quintets of winners for each of the 21 disciplines determined by the Grand Jury for the Visual Arts activity.
