Born in Milan under the name of Graziosa Maggi In June 1925, the actress arrived in Argentina at a very young age and made her stage debut in the opera Aída as a member of the Teatro Colón children’s ballet.
Owner of remarkable flexibility and overflowing charm and humour, Maggi launched a career spanning more than eight decades in the country and professionally in Spain, making her film debut in 1938 in “Mujeres que trabajo” with Nini Marshall.
His filmography, with titles and outstanding activity in the 1950s, includes films such as “Frontera Sur” (1943), “La doctora qué tangos” (1949), “Nacha Regules” (1950), “El hincha” (1951 ), “My sad night” (1952), “La tigra” (1953), “La informer” (1955), “Hotel lodging” (1966), “What a wedding night!” (1969), “The stranger with long hair” (1970), among others.
On television she experienced various events, mainly as a seasoned comedian with Jorge Porcel and in the cycle “Marriages and something else”, of Hugo Moserwhere he composed the popular character of “la Vieja Loló”, who always kept slipping on the penultimate syllable of the words and after several attempts he managed to finish.
He also had roles in programs such as “Alta Comedia”, “Los Libonatti”, “Manuela”, “Poliladron”, “Buenos neighbors”, “Friday of Pacheco”, “Women in prison”, and “Theater like in the theater”, among others.
In 1997, the Argentine Association of Actors and the National Senate awarded him the Podestá Award for Honorable Career. He also won the Martín Fierro award and the Konex.
In theater he stood out in works such as “La Nona”, “The trial of Mary Duggan”, “The biographer is over”, “The downtown girl”, “Petit Café”, “The three gypsy musketeers”, “Mattinata”, “Goodbye… my money”, “The coronation of laughter”, “The magazine of the aces”, “Are you coming for the notice?”, “Everything happens”, among others.
She was married to the actor Juan Carlos Dualwith whom he met in rehearsals for the play “La historia de la guita” and with whom he lived from 1976 until the actor’s death in 2015.
