Death of Elizabeth II: William and Kate visit Sandringham

On the sidelines of a visit to Sandringham, Prince William revealed that he found the funeral march through London very difficult because it reminded him of the funeral of his mother, Lady Diana. “Don’t cry or I’ll start too,” William said, according to the British newspaper. Together with his brother Harry, his father King Charles III. and other family members, the 40-year-old escorted the Queen’s coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall on Wednesday.

William and his wife Kate have spent the day in Norfolk, where the royal family has their country home, Sandringham Castle. There, the couple viewed the myriad flowers laid by mourners to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Princess of Wales also showed emotions. She took the time to read some of the cards and messages for the Queen, but said she couldn’t look at everything because it would make her cry.
