Singer Roland Kaiser does not want to become “stubborn” in old age. Conversations with his children keep him young, says Kaiser. It is about gender or sustainability, for example.
Pop star Roland Kaiser (70) keeps himself young through constant discussions with his children.
“I learn from them to take their perspective and compare it with mine. I don’t want to be stubborn and stubborn,” said the singer in an interview with the news portal t-online. “The discourse with my children keeps me curious and young.”
The talks are about the topic of gender. “I think dealing with it and understanding the thinking behind gender is something positive,” said Kaiser, whose children are already adults. “There is a lot of tolerance and reflection in language development. You have to correct the language.” Some things are “hundreds of years” old and “not always up to date”.
For years there has been a discussion in Germany as to whether – and if so, how – the masculine forms in the language can or should be replaced by broader terms – in order, for example, to involve women more aggressively. The gender asterisk as with students is one of several possibilities. Kaiser himself says “pupils”, which he “actually always did”.
With a view to the challenges of the future, the singer, who released his new album “Perspectives” in September, was confident, for example on the subject of sustainability. “Because I notice from the younger generation that they are much more aware of the problems. Today’s young people are ready to rethink.”
