Queen Elizabeth II lived, loved and laughed for 96 years. In the documentary “The Unseen Queen” she looked back on almost a century and revealed her life wisdom for the platinum throne anniversary.
She was the “grandmother” of the nation, if not the world. This becomes clear in the overwhelming international mourning for Queen Elizabeth II. And as is usual with heads of families, they tend to have the best advice for generations after them. So does the queen. In the documentary “The Unseen Queen” (in English “Queen Elizabeth II – A life for the crown”) Elizabeth II shows many previously unpublished video and photo recordings from her private archive and talks about her life herself.
The documentary, produced to mark her platinum jubilee, touches viewers in the wake of her passing. The film, which is about to impress Royal fans, has been available since the beginning of the week. None other than the Queen herself leads through all the private recordings and gives the viewers her life wisdom along the way. Some of them are thought-provoking, and many of them we can benefit from in the future if we take them to heart.
13 life wisdom of the Queen:
- “The further you look back, the further you can see ahead” (A quote the Queen took from Winston Churchill)
- “We wouldn’t mourn if we didn’t love” (The Queen on the Loss of Friends and Family in WWII)
- “One of the most important aspects of human existence is to have a happy family”
- “Faith, family and friends are a constant source of comfort and reassurance to me”
- “I’ve lived long enough to know that things never stay the same for long”
- “For long periods of time, life seems boring. And then suddenly something big catches up with us, giving us a glimpse of the very basis of our existence.”
- “What people think and do makes the difference, but only the combined efforts of each individual can conquer the evil of time” (Elizabeth II on World War II)
Queen Elizabeth II told in her own words about her life in “The Unseen Queen”:
- “Some cultures believe that longevity brings wisdom. I’d like to believe that. Perhaps part of that wisdom is simply accepting certain confusing paradoxes of life.”
- “A tolerant society develops its people and enriches their lives by valuing their diversity”
- “The relationship between two people has to develop and mature over the years” (The Queen on marriage, she was married to Prince Philip for 73 years)
- “Every marriage is different, but tolerance is the most important ingredient for a happy marriage” (Prince Philip on marriage, a principle shared by Elizabeth II)
- “I rely on my faith to guide me through the good times and the bad”
- “We are all visitors to this place at this time, we are just passing through. We are here to observe, learn, grow and love and then return home”
Now Queen Elizabeth II has “completed her transit and returned home”. The Queen died surrounded by her family at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022.
