Quotas: First edition “The Giovanni Zarrella Show” attracts viewers

Lots of shows fought for the favor of the TV viewers on Saturday. But only one can win in the end. And the celebrated TV premiere.

In the race for the Saturday evening shows, ZDF and its new presenter Giovanni Zarrella won. The first edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” had an average of 3.81 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of 16.2 percent from 8:15 pm.

Zarrella is the successor to Carmen Nebel’s music show at ZDF, who hosted her program “Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel” for the last time in March after almost 18 years and had a good four and a half million viewers at the time. Zarrella (43) is also the new counterpart to Florian Silbereisen (40) on ARD, who last week Saturday with his “Schlagerchallenge.2021 – The big dream!” had reached about 3.7 million viewers.

The ARD show “Hirschhausen’s Quiz des Menschen” reached 2.83 million viewers (11.9 percent) and the RTL show “Because they don’t know what’s happening” with Günther Jauch, Barbara Schöneberger and Thomas Gottschalk 1.85 million ( 9.5 percent).

Behind were Sat.1 and the US action film “Bumblebee” with 1.49 million people (6.1 percent), NDR television with a Cologne “Tatort” repetition (“Dicker than Wasser” from 2015) and 1, 43 million (5.8 percent) and the US thriller “Boston” on ProSieben with 1.40 million (5.8 percent). Incidentally, for viewers up to 50 (14 to 49 years of age) the shows were “Because they don’t know what’s going on” (0.66 million / 13.9 percent) before “Hirschhausen’s Quiz des Menschen” (0.51 million / 9 , 0 percent) and the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” (0.42 million / 7.4 percent).
