According to the director, producer and actor Til Schweiger, he tried to keep an eye on everything during the production of his film “Dear Kurt”. “I take care of every actor, including the extras. Everything is important,” said the 58-year-old to the private radio station Hit Radio FFH in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt. In such productions, he usually sleeps no more than two hours a day. “It’s fine for the duration of a film, after that I have to refuel.”
In order to regain strength, he had recently been to his hometown of Gießen more often. “I visit my father or I’m with my friend Horst in the garden. It’s like vacation. He has the most beautiful garden in the world, planted everything himself. I love this garden,” enthused the actor.
His new film, based on Sarah Kuttner’s bestseller, is about the loss of a child and how it changes everything and everyone. Schweiger was born in Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg). He grew up near Gießen (Hessen) and went to school there.
