“Axel Foley” is the fourth installment in the successful action-comedy franchise, following “Beverly Hills Cop” from 1984, “Beverly Hills Cop II” from 1987 and “Beverly Hills Cop III” 1994. For the fourth installment, the producers opted to ditch the Roman numerals and instead name the film after Murphy’s character, a fish out of water, a Detroit police officer who travels to Los Angeles to investigate crimes.
The details of the plot “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley” have been kept secret. Presumably, the story involves Axel Foley returning to solve a new case.

In the original film, Reinhold and Ashton played Detective Billy Rosewood and Sergeant John Taggart, who are hired to track down Axel Foley as he tries to solve the murder of his best friend. Reiser played Detective Jeffrey Friedman and Pinchot was the fan-favorite Serge. Reinhold appeared in every subsequent adventure of “Beverly Hills Cop”although Ashton, Reiser and Pinchot returned for only two of the three.
As previously reported, Taylor Paige (“Zola”) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been cast in “Axel Foley” in undisclosed roles.

She has been working on a fourth film for decades, with the filmmakers Brett Ratner and the duet of Adil El Arbi Y bilall fallah, each attached at a point to direct. In early 2022, mark molloy was hired to direct the film, in its feature film debut, from a screenplay by Will Beall (“Aquaman”).
Murphy is producing the film with Jerry Bruckheimer Y Chad Oman for Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Ray Angelic will serve as executive producers, while Melissa Reid will co-produce for Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
