When she took over from founder Matthias Strolz, Meinl-Reisinger received 94.8 percent. The Pink also blessed a new federal board on Saturday.
Andrea Klambauer (78.9 percent) and Vienna’s deputy mayor Christoph Wiederkehr (94.1 percent) were elected as Meinl-Reisinger’s deputy. Michael Bernhard has been confirmed as financial officer. Julia Seidl, the Innsbruck municipal councilor, will act as his deputy in the future. In addition, MEP Claudia Gamon and Deputy Club Chairman Gerald Loacker joined the board.
Before the vote, Meinl-Reisinger referred to what had been achieved in recent years and asked the members for “broad confidence”. It was “an incredible amount of success”, in Vienna and Salzburg NEOS took over government responsibility. “We have succeeded in firmly anchoring a liberal party in Austria.”
Meinl-Reisinger speaks today in an ONplus interview how the style of NEOS has changed under her leadership and how her relationship with Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has developed.
