Good news from Jeff Bridges: His cancer treatment appears to be working. However, a coronavirus infection last threw him off track.
The US actor Jeff Bridges (71) claims to be successfully fighting cancer – and has also survived a coronavirus infection.
After months of treatment, his cancer regressed, wrote Bridges on his website. However, the fight against cancer is an “easy exercise” compared to the fight against coronavirus infection, which he contracted in January.
He spent five weeks in the hospital with Covid-19. His wife Sue was also infected, but overcame the disease faster. “This encounter with mortality gave me a gift – life is short and beautiful,” wrote Bridges, who says he is now vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Last October, the actor announced that he had cancer of the lymph glands. Bridges has starred in more than 90 films in around 50 years. Even today he is most associated with the “Dude” from the US comedy “The Big Lebowski” (1998). For his role in “Crazy Heart” he received the Oscar for best leading actor in 2010.
