Car maker: Tesla reports new quarterly record

Elon Musk’s company delivered more than 200,000 electric cars in the second quarter. This means that the US electrical manufacturer has once again significantly exceeded the record from the previous quarter.

The US electric car maker Tesla brought more vehicles to customers in the second quarter than ever before in a quarter.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk’s company announced shipments of 201,250 cars today. This broke the record of 184,800 vehicles from the previous quarter.

According to its own information, Tesla produced 206,421 cars in the three months to the end of June, which is also a new record. The majority, 204,081 units, was attributable to the 3 and Y models. Despite the strong growth, the numbers remained slightly below market expectations.

The company was nevertheless satisfied. “Our teams have done an outstanding job,” Tesla announced, referring to the supply chain, which is suffering from logistics problems. The automotive industry recently groaned from a lack of computer chips, and business was also negatively impacted by a shortage of containers and traffic jams in many ports.
