The annual program is dedicated to the work of Klemm, who was also an artist and collector, and has the outstanding curatorship of Federica Baeza, Guadalupe Chirotarrab and Santiago Villanueva, and the guest design of Agustín Ceretti.
“Federico imagined himself as a lyrical singer, a scenic activity that he practiced both in some of his performances and in his spontaneous appearances at night events. This opera, a story between drama, tragedy and comedy, is shown in several of his photo-paintings, in his adoration for Nureyev or Maria Callas and a very strong bond with his mother, who he portrayed numerous times, including at her wake”, refers the curatorial text.
The two previous episodes were “Telecrystals and Homoeroticism”, an exhibition made up of a set of photo-paintings and photo-collages, objects, archive documents, furniture and a selection of pieces from the collection, and “El cisne en llamas”, which focused in the relationship between Klemm and Mildred Burton. .
On the other hand, it opens to the public the exhibition “La Metamorfosis del Rubí”, an exhibition by the artist Daniel Basso who was the first Klemm 2020 Prize winner and on this occasion presents a specific site installation in room 6 of the foundation’s permanent collection, with an intervention “that is integrated with the heritage and architecture of the rooms”, according to the curators.
The complete project can even be toured on October 22, coinciding with the Night of the Museums, in which the Foundation is participating for the first time. In any case, both exhibitions will continue to be exhibited until the end of the year and can be visited at Marcelo T. de Alvear 626, in the Retiro neighborhood, city of Buenos Aires, from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with free admission.
