Selena Gomez, 30, has responded to the interview in which Hailey Bieber, 25, talks about the hatred she’s felt since dating Justin Bieber, 28, shortly after Gomez.
Going live on TikTok, the singer-actress said she’s heard people make “mean and disgusting” comments about Hailey since the conversation broke. Gomez speaks about the importance of kindness and emphasizes: “It’s not fair, nobody should ever be spoken to in the way that I’ve heard.”
It’s ironic that many of these people support her beauty line, Rare, but ignore what it stands for. One percent of proceeds goes to the Rare Impact Fund, which works to improve access to mental health. “If you support Rare I can’t thank you enough but know that you also represent what it means and that is: Words matter, truly matter.” She concludes the video by saying, “I hope you guys understand that this is way bigger than anything.”
Hailey talks about hate on the internet
