A highly successful three-movement work that is tailor-made for the principal clarinettist of the Vienna Philharmonic, Matthias Schorn, and demands technical virtuosity and fine sonority from him. Schorn was also convincing in Mozart’s clarinet concerto. In between, the lively C major Symphony K. 338, in which the Sinfonia Christkönig under Eduard Matscheko was able to present itself in the best possible way.
