The Hanover-based company produced a guitar for 007. At the anniversary concert “The Sound of 007 in Concert”, which will take place on Tuesday in London’s Royal Albert Hall and will then be streamed, film composer and curator David Arnold (“Casino Royale”) play the guitar. The guitar is a custom build, featuring the iconic “Gunbarrel” logo seen at the beginning of most Bond films on the body and the 007 logo on the headstock. The instrument, which David Arnold will play at the London concert, will then be signed by himself and Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and will be auctioned off at Christie’s for a good cause.
60 years ago “James Bond – 007 chases Dr. No”, the first film about the famous secret agent, was released in cinemas. In addition to beautiful women, fast cars, megalomaniac villains and lots of action, the iconic theme music is an integral part of all 007 films. The “James Bond Theme” with the famous guitar sound, which was composed by Monty Norman and arranged by John Barry, is one of the most famous melodies in film history and should not be missing from the anniversary concert.
David Arnold, who composed five James Bond soundtracks, was able to invite, among others, Dame Shirley Bassey (“Goldfinger”), the band Garbage (“The World Is Not Enough”) and the German film composer for the gala in London’s Royal Albert Hall Win Hans Zimmer (“No Time To Die”). Jamie Cullum and singer Celeste are also expected on Tuesday evening. The concert can be seen on the Amazon Prime streaming service from Wednesday, “Global James Bond Day”.
