The news follows the first official Nielsen ratings that were released Thursday for the Prime Video series, showing that The Rings of Power it topped the streaming charts in its debut week with 1.3 billion minutes watched (probably an Amazon series record given that only two hours were released).

The Rings of Power is approaching its seventh and penultimate episode of its debut season this week. The program narrates the legendary Second Age of the author J. R. R. Tolkienas a disparate group of heroes gradually come together to fight the return of darkness to Middle-earth.
