Alec Baldwin settles with Halyna Hutchins’ family

Alec Baldwin recently announced on Instagram that there are “many changes” for him in the future. Now the actor has revealed he’s settled out of court with the late Halyna Hutchins’ family.

“We are grateful to all those who helped resolve this tragic and painful situation.” It was all about what was best for Hutchins’ son, Baldwin explained.

Matthew Hutchins, the widower of Baldwin’s accidentally shot camerawoman, sued Baldwin and other producers earlier this year. What is surprising is that he himself is now executive producer of the western “Rust”, in the making of which his wife died.

According to US media reports, Hutchins – and thus his son – will receive part of the film’s proceeds. Filming is slated to resume early next year.

“Heart Has Been Broken”

It is still not entirely clear how the tragic accident on the set of the western “Rust” could have happened. In October last year, Alec Baldwin shot the camerawoman while rehearsing a scene.

An event that also changed the life of the Hollywood star forever, he said again and again. Baldwin recently posted photos of his children on Instagram and thanked them for their support.

“My heart has been broken a thousand times in the last year. And things in my life may never be the same again. There are many changes ahead. But my family kept me alive. They are the reason I live,” he wrote and also linked his wife Hilaria.

Baldwin was not only the focus of attention as the (involuntary) shooter, but also in his role as the film’s producer. After the accident, allegations were made that the rigorous austerity measures had been so drastic that safety on the set could not be guaranteed.
