Kevin Spacey’s actor’s trial has begun

Kevin Spacey has to answer in court. The jury was selected in a trial against the actor on Thursday.

Kevin Spacey (63) has to go to court. A civil trial against the actor began on October 6 in New York with jury selection. Actor Anthony Rapp (50) has sued his colleague.

Rapp became the first man to accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment as part of #MeToo in 2017. Spacey is said to have inappropriately approached Rapp in 1986. He is said to have touched the alleged victim on the buttocks, lifted him onto a bed and laid himself on Rapp without his consent. At that time, the now 50-year-old was only 14 years old. Spacey denies the allegations.

Both Spacey and Rapp are likely to testify

Other men later came forward to accuse Spacey of sexual assault. He had pleaded not guilty before a court in London in July, it was reported at the time. The actor attended the hearing in person and previously said he “strongly denies” the three men’s allegations. The process is scheduled to begin next June.

The fact that both Rapp and Spacey appeared in New York on Thursday, but neither of the two men spoke to the reporters present. The trial is expected to last no longer than two weeks and both will testify. According to US media reports, Rapp is demanding $40 million from Spacey for emotional suffering, among other things.
