In the tug-of-war over a civil lawsuit in the USA against the British Prince Andrew, the royal lawyers pull out all the stops.
As the London High Court announced on Friday, the legal team of the second eldest Queen’s son announced that they would proceed against the transfer of the documents by the court. So far, Andrew had successfully delayed the start of the abuse allegation process in the US by simply being unavailable.
The High Court finally agreed to take over the formal transfer of the documents. Andrews’ attorneys now have a week to appeal, the High Court said.
The lawsuit is related to the abuse scandal involving the convicted sex offender and US multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in prison in 2019. Prince Andrew was several overnight guests at Epstein’s home in the USA and the Caribbean. Epstein and his ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently waiting for her trial in a New York prison, are said to have made dozens of girls and young women into their addiction and sexually abused and fed other men for years. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty of the charges.
