Meanwhile, San Miguel de Tucumán shows 88% occupancy, San Javier registers 87% and San Pedro de Colalao with 83%.

These numbers are given “in the framework of the second half of the year, in which we stand out with cultural, sports and academic events; on this occasion, we will have more than 18 events of different types that will attract tourists from all over the country and the region. such as Santiago del Estero, Catamarca and Jujuy,” said Giobellina.

Among the events that make up the grid are the 10th Biennial of Documentary Photography, the 13th edition of the 2500 Tafí and the 31st Transmontaña Enduro Rally, the National and International Trancas Horse Festival, and the Monteros de la Patria Festival. .

The head of the Entity stressed that “in the North we work jointly with neighboring provinces, thus showing the best of each destination and consolidating ourselves as venues for major meetings of national hierarchy”, after which he stated that the region “will receive a very high number of visitors from here until December, when a summer season will begin that promises to be historic.

Giobellina explained that the reservation figures for this extra-long weekend “are in line with what happened during the month of September in the province, which reached an average occupancy rate of 47%, with a total of 128,000 overnight stays and more of 71 thousand tourists, which reflects an increase of 13% compared to 2021”,

The tourist flow responds to the fact that “after the pandemic, people prefer to take advantage of this type of break to go on getaways, which produces a greater number of overnight stays and average spending, being more practical and beneficial for the sector,” he explained.
