Guadalajara Book Fair: seven writers from Argentina will be part

The Argentinian Sergio Olguinauthor of “The fragility of bodies” and “The foreigners”, will share a session of the Latin American program with the Colombian Laura Restrepothe Bolivian Edmundo Paz Soldan and another Colombian, the journalist and editor Philip Restrepo Pombo.

In another session they will be Ariana Harwicz, Argentine based in France, author of texts such as “Matate amor”; Fernanda García Lao, author of “Vaccine Nation”; and the essayist and writer Martín Kohan, winner of the Herralde Novel Award for his novel “Ciencias morales”. They will be accompanied by Fernando Iwasaki, a Peruvian journalist and writer, who received the King of Spain Prize for Journalism in 2015.

Outside of this section, coordinated by the organization of the FIL, a keynote speech by Alberto Manguel is planned, entitled “Pierre Menard, instructions for reading”; the presence of Luisa Valenzuela who will be part of a tribute table to Carlos Fuentes, as well as the journalist and writer Florencia Etcheves, who will present her book “La cocinera de Frida” and will participate in a talk on human trafficking and literature .

This year will also feature the presence of more than thirty publishers from Argentina: Limonero, Madreselva, Imaginador, Ampersand, Prometeo, Godot, Iamiqué, Del Naranjo, Rara Avis, Letra Sudaca and Letras del Sur Editora, among others.

The Guadalajara International Book Fair It runs for nine days, from November 26 to December 4, and in this edition Sharjah and Arab culture are guest of honour.
