DeLonge and Hoppus founded Blink-182 in 1992, and Barker joined as drummer in 1998. The band went on hiatus and explored side projects in 2005, with DeLonge focusing on his band Angels & Airwaves. They regrouped for a new music and reunion tour in 2009, but DeLonge left the band in 2015. Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio joined as a replacement, while DeLonge pursued his own music and dabbled in the UFO studio, even executive producing “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFOs” of History Channel.

Since then, Barker has collaborated with many other artists, and Blink-182, with Skiba, released two albums, 2016’s “California” and 2019’s “Nine”. In 2021, Hoppus revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and has been cancer-free since. He, Barker and DeLonge had been meeting after his diagnosis, leading many fans to speculate about a reunion.
