“I have been saying for some time that there is a new era in the DC Universe that is about to begin,” Johnson said. “And what I meant by that was to introduce a completely new character. It is not a sequel. It was… you know, Black Adam. Two years ago the world had no idea who he was. We did it. What I really meant by ‘This is a new era in the DC Universe’ is to listen to the fans. And doing our best to give the fans what they want.”
Johnson emphasized that “I’ve been listening and wanting to address fans for years” regarding the desire for Black Adam and Superman to fight on the big screen.
“I’ve been waiting for someone to come forward and turn to the fans and say, ‘Hey, we heard you,'” Johnson added. “So finally, after many months turned into many years, we ended up with what we ended up with. And all the goal and intention now is for this new era, new time. Now we’re going to build.”
The movie “Black Adam” by Johnson also stars aldis hodge, Noah Centineo, sarah shahi, Marwan Kenzari Y Pierce Brosnan. The film opens in theaters on October 20 from Warner Bros.
