The nose is damaged and there is a plaster on the forehead: Liam Gallagher posted a selfie on Twitter with a battered face and said he had fallen from a helicopter. He already has a use for the picture.
Liam Gallagher, the former lead singer of the British rock band Oasis, is known for his impetuous demeanor. Now he gave his fans further proof of his wild side: The 48-year-old posted a selfie on Twitter that showed him with a scarred face. Remnants of blood stuck under his nose, his forehead is adorned with a large plaster. Gallagher wrote: “Guys, look at this, I fell out of a helicopter last night.” But he’s fine.
Gallagher compared himself in the tweet with “The Who” drummer Keith Moon, who had made headlines again and again with his excessive lifestyle. The singer wrote: “Who said rock and roll was dead?”
Liam Gallagher jokes about helicopter crash
It is unclear whether it was an accident or whether Gallagher jumped out of the helicopter for a video shoot or a photo shoot, for example. When asked by a fan how deep he had fallen, Gallagher jokingly replied, “one hundred thousand feet.” That would correspond to about 30 kilometers and would be rather unrealistic.
Gallagher got more than 30,000 likes and over 2000 comments for his selfie – apparently his fans are happy that nothing worse has happened to the singer.
Liam Gallagher celebrated great success with the band Oasis in the 1990s. The band, in which his brother Noel also played, released many successful albums and had big hits, including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. Oasis disbanded in 2009. Gallagher is currently performing as a solo artist.
On Friday evening, shortly before his fall, he was the headliner of the “Isle of Wight Festival” in Newport, England on the Isle of Wight.
The incident apparently spurred the creativity of the 48-year-old singer. An hour after the first photo he posted another post and wrote: “Got the cover for the next album, come on, nose.”
