Robert Koch Institute: More than 55 percent in Germany vaccinated at least once

926,463 vaccine doses were administered in Germany on Thursday. This means that 46 million have received at least one vaccination. But there are differences in the federal states.

Around 38 percent of the population in Germany are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. This is based on figures from the Robert Koch Institute (as of 3:40 p.m.).

Accordingly, 926,463 vaccine doses were administered yesterday. Slightly more than 46 million people (55.6 percent) have received at least one vaccination, 31.4 million (37.9 percent) are fully vaccinated.

Among the federal states, Bremen has the highest proportion of first-time vaccinations with 63.7 percent. 14 other federal states have reached the 50 percent mark. Saxony remains at the bottom with 47.7 percent. With 43.6 percent, Saarland has the highest proportion of fully vaccinated residents. Brandenburg is at the bottom of the ranking with 34.4 percent.

The vaccination campaign against the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen began in Germany at the end of last year. First it was the turn of people over 80, residents of old people’s and nursing homes and medical staff. Among other things, chronically ill people with an increased risk of a serious and fatal course are given preference to vaccinate. People can now try to make an appointment regardless of the previously valid list of priorities.
