Córdoba Art Fair is suspended and there is disgust in the sector

“The implication of this decision generates enormous economic and moral damage for all the actors that are part of the visual arts,” the association extended, which pointed directly to the municipal Ministry of Culture for “suspending” the event.

From the municipality they ratified Télam that there will be no more official information for the moment, nor word from the Secretary of Culture, Mariano Almada, while all the participants have already been informed about the suspension.

From the portfolio they insisted that the fair “has been rescheduled” and that they are “working on its programming, with the aim of holding it in the coming months.” However, the proximity of the canceled date generated numerous questions.

The Jacques Martínez Gallery expressed itself on social networks, and said: “We were going to be there and it was for us the fifth time in Córdoba exhibiting with you. The four times we went, we were treated with extraordinary warmth and care.” “That’s why we tell you; if it didn’t come out this time, it will be next year and those that follow. Courage, that everything that has already been done remains and the roads sometimes have stones and inconveniences. A big hug!”

The Ministry of Culture, meanwhile, added in its statement: “We have convened a work table to coordinate actions with the institutions and co-organizers to, through the joint work of all the actors, finalize the realization of the Fair in a positive and as successful as the visual arts sector in Córdoba deserves”.

“Intensive work is being done to assign the new completion date, which will be communicated shortly,” concludes the message from the local portfolio.

The last edition of the Fair was in September 2021, in a hybrid format and under the title “Landscape: production and fantasy”, with the participation of more than 65 galleries and 200 artists from all over the country who offered a current and federal map of the visual arts through exhibitions, performances, tours, guided tours, concerts, talks, talks, workshops, interventions and special events, all with free access.
