The late director Ivan Reitman is accused by actress Anna Faris of indecently touching her on set in 2006.
Director Ivan Reitman (1946-2022) was responsible for some well-known Hollywood comedies. With “Ghostbusters” from 1984 he created a film that is still unforgettable for many today. Actress Anna Faris (45) now reveals that she had one of her “toughest film experiences with Ivan Reitman”.
A “Reign of Terror” on the set
In one, she describes the director’s behavior on the set of the film “Die Super-Ex” in conversation with her fellow actress Lena Dunham (36) as “reign of terror”. The idea of shooting a comedy under these conditions is absurd, she suggests. “He was a screamer,” reports the “Scary Movie” star. She felt that on the first day of shooting. She was about 20 to 25 minutes late due to an accident through no fault of her own, and Reitman yelled at her. Faris felt “angry, hurt and humiliated” and had to fight back tears, the actress says.
Later, the director “slapped her on the butt, too. It was a strange moment.” Dunham’s reaction: “I don’t think you’re the first person to report this. And I’m very sorry you had that experience. And didn’t anyone step in and say ‘no’?” The 45-year-old replies: “No, it was around 2006.”
The actress has addressed the incident in the past but has not yet revealed the director’s name. In 2017, in the early days of the #MeToo movement, the actress said: “I was shooting a scene where I was standing on a ladder and I was supposed to be taking books off a shelf and he gave me in front of the whole crew slapped my ass so hard. And all I could do was giggle.” At the time, she didn’t know how to react.
