Industry data
In recent years, craft alcoholic beverages began to gain a place at the tables and meetings of Argentines, and among them, beer gained great prominence. In the country, 3% of the beer consumed is craft. And what characterizes the craft market is that it is the sector that produces the most variety of Lagers – Pilsen, Doppelbock, IPL, Cold IPA, Festbier- if compared to the industrial ones.
According to the Argentine Chamber of Craft Beer Producers, the item grew by around 40%, with more than 1,500 producers throughout the country. “Internationally, the consumption of craft beer reaches 14%, which shows us that we have a long way to go and that it is still possible to continue growing at the national level”, comment José Bini, one of the creators of Lager Day and Brew Master of Bierhaus. “Initiatives such as Lager Day are precisely intended to collaborate with this growth and make the market consolidate and be a generator of more work and consumption. Hopefully more proposals of this type arise to continue supporting the sector and with which surely all of us who are part of it will join”, he adds
On the first Lager Day, more than 125 bars and breweries from all over the country were summoned: Mendoza, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Salta, Santa Fe, Misiones, Tierra del Fuego, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, San Juan, Entre Ríos . “In this second edition we hope to continue adding more producers, bars and breweries to be able to reach more people and more places throughout the country”, comment Bini.
