Weißwurst party in Kitzbühel: celebrity event for the Hahnenkamm race canceled

The celebrity event for the Hahnenkamm race has been canceled. The famous veal sausage party in Kitzbühel does not take place again.

The 82nd Hahnenkamm Race will take place from January 17 to 23, 2022 in Kitzbühel, Tyrol. The legendary white sausage party in the Stanglwirt on the fringes of the major sporting event, however, has been canceled. The hotel announced this on Tuesday evening.

30th anniversary postponed

“Even though, despite the still extraordinary situation, we are grateful for the enormous demand for our traditional large-scale events, after careful consideration we have decided to postpone the 30th anniversary of our legendary veal sausage party again”, “The Hauser family & the entire Stanglwirt team” are aimed at “fans of our winter event highlights”. The postponement is therefore independent of the conditions that could still arise up to the event dates. “Even if we could perhaps carry out our events with the 1-, 2- or 3-G rule, they would not be what we all do love and appreciate. In addition, possible infections could not be completely ruled out, even if all the requirements were complied with, if many people come together at a major event – and in a slimmed-down version these celebrations would not be the same, “says the explanation for the cancellation.

The health and safety of employees, guests and locals have top priority, and no one should have to be excluded from the events due to given restrictions.

Big comeback in 2023

But the post-corona period will probably come and there is already a promise: “We are planning an even more brilliant comeback for 2023 and are looking forward to everyone who will then duly catch up with us for the 30th anniversary of the veal sausage party” , says the Stanglwirt team. Singer Alec Völkel (49) from The BossHoss – “Oh Noooo! But all the more in the next” – and rapper Kool Savas (46) – “I’ll be there” – have already confirmed their attendance in the mail.

Traditionally, the Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger (74), actor and former governor of California, does not miss the event. For the last spectacle, which took place in January 2019 on the occasion of the Streif, the actors Mario Adorf (91), Sonja Kirchberger (56) and Larissa Marolt (29), the presenters Verona Pooth (53), Victoria Swarovski (28) and Cathy Hummels (33), the models Barbara Meier (35) and Franziska Knuppe (46) and singer Andreas Gabalier (36).
