Tomorrow the Santiago del Estero Book Fair begins

The fair put into circulation a newspaper with complete information on the activities. This impression will be delivered to each of the visitors with the most relevant programming and content. At the opening of this publication it is reported that the director of the National Library, John Sasturain, who had been at the official announcement of the Santiago del Estero Book Fair, returned to Buenos Aires surprised by the level of programming and the beauty of the spaces in which the event will take place. “They’re doing a tremendous job for culture,” he said.

On Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from the same opening hours until midnight and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. there will be multiple and varied activities: 150 conferences, round tables, workshops, festivals, shows, presentations of books and exhibitions. The topics that will be discussed are varied and range from folklore, new technologies, sexual diversity, native peoples, poetry, to children’s and youth literature.

Admission is free and free, and the fair will also deliver checkbooks to school students and people in charge of Popular Libraries who visit the FORUM Convention Center (Peru 510) these days and can use them for purchases at the different stands.

The governor of the province of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, explains in the Fair newspaper that the “agreement with the Fundación El Libro is a formidable contribution to new readings both within our cultural field as well as for the rest of the region that we integrate”.

For his part, the new president of Fundación El Libro, the writer and president of SADE Alejandro Vaccaro, pointed out that “we celebrate with great enthusiasm and genuine joy being co-organizers of this edition of the Santiago del Estero Book Fair. It is a moment Transcendental for the institution that I preside over, since this Fair allows us to strengthen cultural ties and enjoy the great literary tradition of the NOA”.

Featured Activities

Among the most outstanding activities is the presence of Claudia Piñeiro who will be interviewed this Thursday at 7 pm, in the Bernardo Canal Feijóo Room, to talk about her latest novel “The Time of the Flies.” In the same room, on Friday the 28th, at 8:30 p.m., Guillermo Martínez will also be interviewed about his work, in general, and his novel, in particular, “The last time” published in June this year.

On Saturday the 29th, at 7:00 p.m., Darío Sztajnszrajber and Soledad Barruti give shape to “interesting and sharp talks that cross philosophy and journalism”, as the invitation to the activity anticipates. That same day, at 9:30 p.m., Víctor Hugo Morales and Cynthia García will discuss media and other issues.

For his part, the journalist Osvaldo Quiroga, a specialist in the work of William Shakespeare, who says that the playwright “continues to whisper in our ears”, will give a talk on the author of “Hamlet”, “Macbeth” and “Romeo and Juliet” on Sunday 30 from 6 pm in the María Adela Agudo Room; while on Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 6 pm, the journalist Silvina Friera will give a workshop on cultural journalism in Room 4 María Adela Agudo. These are just some of the 150 activities that will take place during the four intense days of this new and promising edition of the Santiago del Estero Book Fair.
