Nicole Richie celebrated her 40th birthday extensively. However, her celebration ended with her setting herself on fire.
This is probably not how Nicole Richie imagined her 40th birthday. To celebrate the day, the designer received a cake from her guests. When blowing out the candles, however, there was a dangerous mishap, Richie’s curly blond mane caught fire and went up in flames.
While the 40-year-old is screaming, her guests try to knock out the flames at lightning speed. Then the clip breaks off. Richie himself seems to take the incident with humor. “Well … so far 40 is hot,” she comments on her post.

Numerous stars insisted on congratulating Richie on her special day, but reacted in part with shock. “Happy Birthday! Welcome to middle age,” comments model and actress Amber Valletta (47). “My heart just fell off,” writes singer Kelly Rowland (40). “I hope you’re okay?” Asks Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo (51).
